Four exciting tour events in the Tokyo, Nikko and Tsukuba area were chosen for CIGR participants. However, a few number of participants signed up for the individual tour events. Finally, Nikko, the world heritages of Japan was selected for the sightseeing event in this CIGR conference. The participants who wish to enjoy Tokyo downtown tour, Sumidagawa sightseeing tour or Tsukuba Science City tour are kindly requested to participate in Nikko tour.

| Nikko is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. It is famed above all for its historic temples and shrines, but the surrounding area also offers hot springs, scenic lakes, and Edomura, a theme park where the culture and lifestyle of Edo-period Japan is recreated. The tour highlights famous Toshogu shrine, Chuzenji lake, Kegon falls and local culture in the Nikko City. | The wonderful scenic attraction is the Lake Chuzenji in the mountains above the town of Nikko. It is located at the foot of Mount Nantai, Nikko's sacred volcano, whose eruption blocked the valley below, thereby creating Lake Chuzenji about 20,000 years ago. | Another most attractive sightseeing point is the Kegon waterfall. The water falls from 97m high and this is the most famous of Nikko's many beautiful waterfalls. Refund: Participants who already signed up either any one of Tokyo downtown tour, Sumidagawa tour or Tsukuba Science City tour and does not wish to join in Nikko tour, are kindly requested to contact with conference secretariat for refund.
